The Friday Five - 03.06.26

1. Don’t Forget to Spring Forward this Sunday!

A friendly reminder that Daylight Saving Time begins this Sunday! Before heading to bed Saturday night, be sure to set your clocks one hour ahead so you arrive at church at the right time.

Losing an hour of sleep can be tough, but we look forward to gathering together for worship as we enter a new season and welcome longer, brighter days ahead. Set those clocks forward, grab an extra cup of coffee if needed, and we’ll see you Sunday morning!

2. Purchase Easter Flowers!

We all need a good reminder that spring is just around the corner. Easter is approaching, and it’s time once again to help fill our worship space with the beauty and color of Easter flowers.

Prepaid orders for Easter flowers are now open and will be available through March 29, or until we run out. These flowers help create a welcoming and meaningful atmosphere as we celebrate the joy and hope of Easter together.

Order forms can be found in both the Great Hall and the Narthex. We encourage you to pick one up soon and place your order early to ensure availability.

If you have any questions or would like more information, please speak with Donna or Peg, who will be happy to assist you.

4. Lent Resource Table, Finding ‘Easter Eggs’

As we journey through the season of Lent, you can visit our resource table to help individuals and families grow in faith during these weeks leading up to Easter. You can now find the table in the lobby and in the narthex, stocked with a variety of resources designed to encourage reflection, prayer, and meaningful family conversations.

Available materials include Lenten devotionals, coloring pages, and other family-friendly resources that can help make this season intentional for all ages. Whether you’re looking for a daily reflection or something simple to engage children at home, there’s something there for everyone.

And if you take a closer look, you might even notice a few Easter eggs among the materials.

Recall “A Time for the Child in Us” last Sunday, when we talked about how movies sometimes hide “Easter eggs”—small details placed in the background that viewers might miss at first. In a similar way, God’s love is often at work in subtle ways throughout our lives. We may not always notice it right away, but when we look closely, we can see the quiet ways God is present and moving in the background of every scene of our story.

The paper Easter eggs are there for children and adults alike to write down the “Easter eggs” they notice in their own lives—moments where they’ve seen God’s love, grace, or presence at work.

So as you stop by the table, don’t forget to grab a resource or two—and keep your eyes open for the Easter eggs God places along the way. Lent is a time to slow down, pay attention, and discover the many ways God’s love is already at work around us.
