Looking for a place to belong? Look no further.

At Milford First, we believe we’re better together. We strive to be a church where all are cared for and accepted just as they are. Our community is made up of people from various backgrounds and walks of life. No matter who you are, we offer spaces where you can find support, be yourself, grow closer to God, and connect with others in a safe and loving environment.

Care and Support Groups

  • A compassionate, confidential, judgment-free evening out for caregivers who need someone to listen, a shoulder to cry on or share some laughs to lighten the load that all caregivers carry. This group is inclusive to those from the community as well as those within the church. The group meets the third Monday of every month in the church parlor at 4:30 p.m.

  • The Good Samaritans provide a ministry to our shut-ins and those who are ill through personal cards and notes. A kind word or thought shared in a card can help brighten someone’s day, knowing that they are being thought of and prayed for.

If you know of someone we should be contacting through this ministry, or if you’d like to help send cards, we’d love to hear from you!

  • Are You Going through a Difficult Time? A Stephen Minister can help. Stephen Ministers are members of our congregation who listen, care, encourage, and provide emotional and spiritual support to people going through a crisis or difficult time.

Stephen Ministry is a one-to-one Christian caring ministry to people in our congregation and community experiencing challenges in life - grief, loneliness, divorce, hospitalization disability, job loss, and many other life difficulties. After completing a 50-hour training course, Stephen Ministers are equipped to provide confidential, Christ-centered care to people who are hurting. Stephen Ministers participate in ongoing peer supervision to ensure the quality and consistency of care. Since 1998, Stephen Ministers at Milford First have provided thousands of hours of care to people in and out of our congregation.

Fellowship Groups

  • All are invited to join us for good food and fellowship each week.

Every Wednesday, a committed crew spends hours preparing our Great Hall to welcome members of our community for a delicious meal. More helpers are always needed for tasks like setup, cooking, serving and cleanup! Contact the church to get involved.

Doors open at 5:30 and dinner is served from 6 to 7 p.m.

    LEARN MORE

  • Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. (1 Thessalonians 12: 16-18)

This group begins each gathering by catching up with one another before continuing with a short devotional. Following the devotional, the group spends time sharing joys and concerns, and prays over those concerns along with the congregational prayer list.

If you’d like to join, simply show up, or contact Cindy Hyden for more information. The group meets weekly on Wednesday mornings at 10 a.m. in the Parlor

  • Stitch-N-Fun is a sewing ministry at Milford First that raises money to support the church, schools, and the learning center. With the funds they’ve raised, the group has purchased TVs and computer routers, and helped send someone on the Boundary Waters trip.

Items for sale have included custom t-shirt quilts, various holiday placemats, along with napkins, quilts, table runners and towels. Stitch-N-Fun meets Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. If you enjoy any aspect of the fabric arts – sewing, knitting or crocheting – you’re welcome to join the fun! We all bring lunches and enjoy each other’s fellowship.
