UMC Unveils New Guiding Vision Statement

The United Methodist Church has introduced a new vision statement, aiming to deepen its commitment to God’s dream for the world:

"The United Methodist Church forms disciples of Jesus Christ who, empowered by the Holy Spirit, love boldly, serve joyfully, and lead courageously in local communities and worldwide connections."

This new vision complements the Church’s mission “to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world” and encourages all United Methodists to:

Love Boldly – Embrace all people with Christ-like love.

Serve Joyfully – Offer care and compassion with a joyful heart.

Lead Courageously – Stand against injustice and work for peace and reconciliation.

Bishop Tracy Smith Malone, President of the Council of Bishops, called this “a Kairos moment” — a time of great opportunity and transformation for the Church.
