Music Mission Statement:
To faithfully support the mission and vision of MFUMC, the Musical Ministry program involves musicians who, as participants, are dedicated to lead and inspire the congregation in the order of service through the life enriching qualities of musical praise and Christian worship.
Milford First UMC has a very active music program! We believe that worshiping in song is a vital and integral part of the church service.
The Altar Choir, besides bringing music to us weekly from September to June, performs one cantata per choir season, alternating between Christmas and Easter. The Altar Choir rehearses each Thursday night starting at 7:38pm. Currently, we are in special need of basses and tenors, we of course need sopranos and altos as well! We are open to all adults, and will accept some high school age singers based on a short voice check with the director.
The King’s Kids (children’s choir) perform one musical per year as well, alternating with the Altar Choir schedule. The King’s Kids are a special singing and performing group composed of children in grades 2-6. We are off and running to a new music year at MFUMC!!! Our choir season began Sept. 6, but it's not too late for former OR new members to begin. See Ms. Rhonda for a starting packet of music and info. Come and join the fun!! The Cherub Choir is a “feeder” choir to the King’s Kids and includes children ages 4-6. They usually perform on the fifth Sunday of each month and special events. Cherubs also rehearse on Wednesdays at 6:30pm. in the lower level. Call Ms. Rhonda at 513-675-0483.
We have a special Music of Christmas praise service during Advent and a Ministry of Music Sunday service in June, both of which includes all of our ensembles.
We are always eager to welcome new faces and talents, so join us in worship through music!
