About Stephen Ministry
Stephen Leaders: John Causey, Stephanie Judkins, Jackie Shively, Rich Thomas
"Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn." Romans 12:15
Stephen Ministry is so named for Stephen, in the Bible, who was the first lay person appointed by the Disciples to "go out and help meet the needs of the people."
Christians are instructed to be with one another, in good times and in bad times, in rejoicing or in mourning, in happy events and in times of tragedy. A Stephen minister can be there with you during these times as a trained caring member of this congregation.
Stephen Ministries is a program that equips laypersons to provide confidential, one-to-one care to persons both in our congregation and in the community who are experiencing all kinds of life needs and circumstances.
Whether you are a person who wants to be a caregiver, or whether you are in need of distinctively Christian care, you may benefit from this program. Caregivers are supervised and held accountable for their care while maintaining confidentiality.
Contact our referrals coordinator, Jackie Shively, or Pastor Rich Thomas at 831-5500; or fill out a blue referral form located in the pews and narthex.
