The class is planned to be an informal gathering to share and discuss the prior week's readings from The Upper Room Daily Devotional.  Of course, any other faith-building topics and discussions are always welcome.  Since we will be loosely organized around a daily devotional, you can join the class at any time without being concerned about catching up on curriculum readings.  You may purchase The Upper Room at the church or read the daily devotionals online at http://www.upperroom.org/Devotional.  All are welcome.

    Other Classes:

Wednesday Morning Prayer Group and Bible Study:  Meets every Wednesday @ 10 AM in the Parlor.  We’re currently studying “The Power of a Praying Woman” by Stormie Omartian.

The WAVE is back. Join us every Wednesday evening at 6:00 pm for dinner and fellowship. Dinner is free for a donation and no reservations are required.

    Small Group Offerings

Disciple Bible Study (look for new offering in the fall)

Disciple Bible Study and Jesus in the Gospels are coming!  The decision to take these 9 month intensive courses is not to be taken lightly; however, if you should decide to take this step, the experience will surely change your life.  Here are just two of the many testimonials that have been received regarding the experience of taking these classes.

    • "I have learned more than I had in 52 years regarding the contents and meaning of the Bible, and formed lasting relationships with others."
    • "The study of the Bible itself has been intense.  Plus, the interaction and learning with the others in the class has been a treasured experience."

Please indicate your interest in these classes in the Welcome Center.  Specific dates and times for the classes will be based on the interest and needs of the participants.

The Heart of Christianity (look for new offering in the fall)

Pastor Thomas will lead this 12 session study based on the book, The Heart of Christianity by Marcus Borg.  In this study, Borg offers a practical guide to thinking about God, Jesus, the Bible, faith, and Christian practice.  The study's goal is to have participants discover what the Heart of Christianity is for them.  The class is limited to 16 participants.  You can indicate your interest on the sign-up sheet in the Welcome Center or by calling Pastor Thomas at 831-5500 ext. 114.
